Beginning in 2011, multiple teams from each of the Extension Units will be permitted to enter.

PLEASE NOTE: The decision was made at the April 4-H Horse Board meeting that only the first place Senior State Horse Judging team will be awarded a travel reimbursement to attend a National Contest. As currently stated in the Horse Judging Contest rules, the top 4 teams will be eligible to attend a National Contest. This includes the first, second, and third place Senior teams, in addition to a composite team of the top individuals.

-Entry and Stall Registration-

 The Humane Treatment and 2 year old Snaffle Bit/3 year old Futurity forms can be submitted at the time of entry to the State 4-H Office or at the State Show.

Please note the following:

-The entry DEADLINE for the State Fair Horse Show is AUGUST 1st.

-The pattern books and finals patterns will be included in the participant packets.  There will be a $5.00 office charge (noted on entry form) to cover the materials in the packets.

-The entry fees will be refunded if the State 4-H Office receives cancellation by August 15th. 

-The Stalling form and payment must be submitted to the STATE FAIR Office, NOT the State 4-H Office.  This form is also due August 1.

-Only one halter horse is to be allowed, as listed in the rulebook. 

-Halter Classes-

Please note, the following correction to the 2010 State Fair Exhibitor Handbook.  This is due to late changes that were made to the Halter classes.  

The Halter classes 3001-3008 should read as follows:

3001 - 3 and under Stock type Geldings

3002 - 3 and under Stock type Mares

3003 - 3 and under Non-Stock type and Pony Geldings

3004 - 3 and under Non-Stock type and Pony Mares

3005 - 4 and older Stock type Geldings

3006 - 4 and older Stock type Mares

3007 - 4 and older Non-Stock type and Pony Geldings

3008 - 4 and older Non-Stock type and Pony Mares

-Check-in Information-

*Go to the Livestock Health Papers Check Point at the Fairgrounds Water Park, which is open from 5 AM to midnight each day.

    -All horses will need a current Health Certificate (issued within the last 30 days prior to September 17th).

    -All horses must have a negative Coggins (Equine Infectious Anemia) test conducted within 1 year of the show.

    -The Coggins certificate must accompany the Health Certificate.

 *Go to the Stalling Office at the Fairgrounds (located at the south end of the Expo II Barn)

    -You will be directed to your stalls

 *Check in at the Show Check-in Table (located next to the announcer's stand on the east side of the Expo Center)

    -You will turn in your Kansas State Fair 4-H Horse Show Statement of Humane Treatment of 4-H Horses form and the 2 year old Snaffle Bit/3 year old Futurity Exhibitors form (if showing in these classes).

*Please check in with the gate person prior to each class in which you are entered.

 *If the participant has a conflict or something comes up regarding their classes, they need to contact the Horse Show Coordinators/event Assistant Superintendents.
