National Event Chaperones
There are some wonderful opportunities for Extension
staff and volunteer leaders to serve as chaperones for out-of-state
4-H trips during the coming year.
If you are interested in chaperoning one of these trips, please return
the application and supporting material to the State 4-H Office.
Even though these trips are enjoyable and educational, please realize
that they are not vacations for the chaperones. They require a
selfless, servant-leadership attitude. All candidates should keep
these points in mind when applying.
K-State Research and Extension, 4-H Youth Development takes seriously
its obligation to provide a safe environment for all persons involved
in youth activities. Thus, all volunteer applicants must have received
a letter acknowledging them as a registered volunteer, or complete the
profile enclosed with this application. All Extension specialists,
agents, and program assistants must have completed an Extension Staff
Information Profile (attached) as part of the chaperone application
process.
Agents must also submit letters of approval from the Extension Council
Executive Board and Area Extension Director. Specialists must also
submit letters of approval from their Department/Unit heads.
Volunteers must include a letter of recommendation from an Extension
Agent.
