2003 Boundary Waters Gear Checklist
Be prepared and pack what is needed on this trip. Remember that you will be portaging canoes and gear between lakes. Travel light and smart.

Note: Be sure to put your name on all of your gear and items.

Gear for Backcountry:

Personal Gear

____Sleeping bag

____Foam sleeping pad/mattress

____Stuff bag for sleeping bag

Clothing (should be quick drying, not 100% cotton)

____Long sleeve shirt -- 1 (your crew shirt is long-sleeved, Hydro-duct polyester jersey knit)

____Short sleeve shirts -- 2 (one to sleep in, one to wear)

____Shorts -- 1-2 pairs

____Long pants -- 1 pair

____Warm jacket (fleece is good)

____Rain jacket and pants (avoid cheaply made and cheaply priced), no ponchos

____Gloves (wool works well)

____Stocking cap

____Hat with wide brim

____Underwear – 2 pair

____Lightweight insulated underwear

____Bandanas (3)

____Water shoes or sandals

____Athletic shoes to wear at camp

____Socks (biting flies love your ankles and toes)
