4-H and Open Horse Judges' Certification Clinic
When: April 12, 2019
Where: Colby Community College Farm, 2002 County Road 23, Colby, KS 67701
Who: Horse enthusiasts 19-years-old and older who want to become a certified 4-H and open horse judge. Current judges may attend to refresh or become re-certified. The clinic is co-sponsored by the Colby Community College Equestrian program, K-State Research and Extension and Northwest Area 4-H. The training runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dr. Teresa Douthit, Associate Professor in Animal Nutrition, Department of Animal Sciences, KSU, will be the lead trainer. The training will include two halter classes and four performance classes.
Cost of the certification is $45 that includes lunch, snack and training materials. There will no refunds except in the event that the training is cancelled due to low numbers. All participants must remain for the entire training in order to be certified. Registrations are on-line due by April 1st by visiting: http://www.colbycc.edu/judge-clinic. Participants must be at least 19-years-old to attend the certification.

Where: Rock Springs 4-H Center
Who: 4-H Members ages 7-18 and adult volunteers. Horse Panorama is a compilation of various contests related to the Horse Project. Contests include: quiz bowl, hippology, public speaking presentations, photography and educational posters. There will also be educational activities for 4-Hers of all ages.
State 4-H Horse Show
When: September 12 - 14, 2019
Where: Kansas State Fairgrounds, Hutchinson, KS
Who: 4-H Members ages 9-18 who have successfully met the requirements of the Horse Achievement Levels required by their age group prior to their District qualifying 4-H Horse Show entry deadline.

Registration Deadline: State 4-H Horse Show entries are due to the State 4-H Office and on KSFAIR data entry system by August 1. Entries cannot be accepted after August 1. Local Extension Units may establish local deadlines before August 1.
