Astronomy

Have you ever looked up at the night sky and wondered? Are you curious what the stars and planets are made of?   Astronomers ask big questions and seek out the secrets of the universe.  If you find these questions interesting then this 4-H Project is for you!

Things to Learn/Do in the Projects
  • Basic understanding of how to use a telescope
  • Understand what it means to be an astronomer
  • Understand how to locate the North Star
  • Understand the difference between circumpolar and seasonal constellations
  • Understand moon phases
  • Be able to navigate through the night sky
  • Be able to locate some common stars in the night sky
  • Understand what a deep sky object is and how to locate at least three
