4-H Shooting Sports Instructor Certification Workshop

The dates for the Fall 2015 Kansas 4-H Shooting Sports Instructor Certification Workshop are November 6-8, 2015 at Ulysses, Kansas. A Junior Apprentice/Apprentice Certification is being offered for those participants that are 14 through 20-year-olds before November 6, 2015 and have participated in and completed at least on year in the Shooting Sports project. Jr. Apprentices may re-take instruction at age 21 at a reduced rate for full instructor certification. Registration online at http://www.cvent.com/d/drq6m0 is due October 15, 2015.

We are only offering Archery, Coordinator, and Rifle discipline. There needs to be at least 20 participants for us conduct the training with at least five people in each.

The instructor workshop begins with check-in at 12:30 p.m. and concludes on Sunday afternoon at approximately 3 p.m. Only full time participants will be allowed. The cost is $80.00 which covers training materials only. The registration fee for a Junior Apprentice will be $40.00. Make check payable to Kansas 4-H Foundation.

Please note: Lodging will not be provided, participants will need to make their own hotel accommodations. Please see the map of the Grant County Fairgrounds included with this letter for information on hotels and restaurants in Ulysses.

Prospective participants should have a minimum level of experience in the discipline and be recommended by the local extension unit i.e. (agent/coordinator). They should have an interest in 4-H and youth development with prior experiences at the local level including the Volunteer Screening.
