States’ 4-H Outbounds for Summer
We got word on January 8 that some of the countries that were destinations for three of the four Kansas outbounds, who had been approved for 2021, have suspended their plans to host. These included Norway, Taiwan and South Korea. Kansas teens Maddie Anderson and Taelur Barnes had planned travel to Norway and Desiree Ingalsbe, Taiwan. After being informed of the situation, all three told the State Coordinator they wish to go somewhere this summer, if possible. Kate Rogers is still planning to go to Japan. A new schedule posted by States’ 4-H has postponed their acceptance letters at least until February 15 and first payments due March 1. In the meantime, States’ 4-H asks prospective outbounds to be patient while they monitor COVID health conditions and get information from international partners.
