Students from a Variety of Countries Available for Next School Year

Submitted by Mary Kay Munson

One Kansas family has selected a Japanese student to host for the 2021-2020 school year.  There are still students from Tunisia, Mongolia, Serbia, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, West Bank, Slovakia, Jordan, India, and Czech Republic, Greece, South Korea (5), and Japan (10).  Several of these have families who are working through the placement process, and there are around 8 more students from various countries as part or FLEX or YES whose applications have yet to be received.  They will likely arrive in the next month.

I would encourage any family who would consider hosting a high school student to review the student bios very soon as their options of students in the National 4-H Pool will be reduced from now on.  These teens are good students, screened for English skills and highly motivated.  Contact the Kansas state coordinator for Academic Year Programs (AYP) Mary Kay Munson at 785-375-3189 or mkm2@ksu.edu for more information and application.
