Discovery Days 2022 - Call for Proposals

Submitted by Shane Potter

We are excited to announce the call for proposals for 2022 Kansas 4-H Discovery Days is now open. The general format for 2022 will follow the 3 day, 2 night experience established in 2019. The event is scheduled for June 1-3, 2022.

The 2022 4-H Discovery Days event has two opportunities to engage with youth. On Wednesday afternoon there will be two one hour introductory sessions. These are designed to be introductions to areas where youth can explore a wide range of academic topics. On Thursday, the sessions are designed to provide a more in-depth experience. Tract sessions on Thursday are full-day sessions, but can be a collaboration of sessions that are related in topic. For example, the tract session could be entered as Healthy Living but could be made up of sessions including a nutritionist, a session on the Healthcare needs in Kansas, and an introduction to the PA program new to Kansas State. We ask that all proposals be submitted by February 14th. A tentative agenda is loaded on our website to better understand the layout.

  • Enhance personal growth by giving opportunities to develop responsibility, confidence, independence, accountability, problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills
  • Help youth meet new people and make new friends from different places and with different backgrounds from across the state
  • Provide an opportunity for youth to experience the K-State campus and its wealth of resources
  • Develop college and career readiness skills which prepare participants academically and socially for a successful transition to college and life as an adult
