Volunteer Questions and Answers - 4-H Shooting Sports

Submitted by Pam Van Horn

During our recent Statewide 4-H Shooting Sports Training, a question was presented concerning Volunteer eligibility as a state certified instructor/coordinator if local registered volunteer status is discontinued.
Since Volunteer Screening is required to become a certified instructor/coordinator, if the privilege is lost then state certification statue ends. The local Extension Agent then notifies the State 4-H Shooting Sports Liaison concerning the terminated status which ceases the state shooting sports certification.

However, if the local Extension Board re-instates the volunteer as a local volunteer again the local Extension Agent would notify the State 4-H Shooting Sports Liaison. Currently, the Kansas State 4-H Shooting Sports plan states concerning loss of instructor and coordinator certification, “reinstatement is authorized by a two thirds quorum vote of the Kansas 4-H Shooting Sports Committee.”
