2016 Volunteer U (a multi-state conference)

Volunteer U is multi-state educational conference for 4-H volunteers, parents and Extension agents wanting to learn fun, creative and innovative techniques for fostering positive youth development. The conference is planned for November 11-13, 2016 at C.A. Vines Arkansas 4-H Center and Kansas 4-H volunteers, parents and agents are invited to attend.

Cost for the conference
Full Conference Registration Price:

Full conference registration, meals and lodging (3 people per room) $175
Full conference registration, meals and lodging (2 people per room) $185
Full conference registration, meals and lodging (1 person per room) $195

Part Time Conference Registration:

Friday (includes meals, no lodging) $65
Saturday (includes meals, no lodging) $75
Pay by Credit Card or by Check to: UACES

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made via e-mail to lwooten@uaex.edu. Cancellations received by October 30 will receive 100% refund; by November 5 – 50% refund. No refunds after November 6. Exceptions will be made based on personal or family illness or death in the immediate family.

Lodging: Depending on conference registration choice, if no roommate is indicate during registration, one will be assigned to you.

Conference objectives:
• Educational Curriculum – new trends, new curriculum or revised curriculum which advance educational experiences. (Head - Independence and Healthy - Mastery)

• Volunteer Best Practices – knowledge and skills volunteers and staff need to accomplish our mission of positive youth development, club management, teaching, project development, life skills, etc. (Hands - Generosity and Heart - Belonging)

• Service – how to impact our community through Youth in Governance, Youth-Adult
Partnerships, Service Learning, Leadership, Citizenship, etc. (Heart - Belonging and Hands -Generosity)

• Positive Youth Development Programming – innovative and timely programs or refurbished programs/activities/events preparing youth for a global society, to be effective change agents and problem solvers who are capable of finding and using resources. Through an intentional blending of project work (knowledge and skill) and life skill development youth are ready for the 21st Century. (Essential Element - Mastery, Belonging, Generosity and Independence)

The Conference starts at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 11th and runs through Sunday, November 13th at 1:00 pm. Sessions will include 4-H Club Management and Volunteer Best Practices, Positive Youth Development, 4-H Science (STEM) programs, Healthy Living programs, Citizenship/Leadership programs, fun shops, and more!
