Snaffle bit Nominations

Submitted by Pamela Van Horn

Horse snaffle bit projects are due into the local Extension Office by May 1. Along with the nomination, the 4-H member must submit the Horse ID and a $10 fee. The nomination form, a copy of the horse ID (including a color picture of the horse) and fee should to be forwarded to the State 4-H Office as soon as possible, within the first week of May for Snaffle and 3 year olds.

Three-year old snaffle bit projects must have been nominated the previous year and did not have to be shown to be re-nominated. Also, this will be the final year for two-year olds since industry has changed procedures for safety of the young horse. State Fair entries for these projects are due August 1 in the State 4-H Office. For more information concerning the Snaffle bit project check the 4-H Horse Show Rule Book.
