Livestock County Fair Management Clinics

Submitted by Lexie Hayes

Livestock County Fair Management Clinics are biennial programs held in even years. The clinic is designed for county fair board members, extension agents and volunteers involved in local livestock fair management and leadership. This professional development opportunity consists of an activity filled day to increase awareness, knowledge, and provide a forum for open communication for individuals working with livestock at their local fairs. K-State faculty and staff will facilitate discussion directly related to livestock activity at local livestock fairs in Kansas. The program is geared towards the input and participation of county fair board members, superintendents, and extension agents. Two clinics are hosted to accommodate travel and participation, but the same topics will be covered both days. The first clinics will be held on April 7, 2020 at the Sedgwick County Extension Office in Wichita, with the second being held in Oakley at the Logan County Fairgrounds. A flyer with a detailed schedule is linked to each event listed on the homepage for the KSU youth livestock program. Registration is $15/person and is due by March 27, 2020.
