Hosting IFYE’s

Submitted by Mary Kay Munson

As many as ten IFYE’s are expected for summer 2017 in Kansas.  Each will have multiple host families, staying with each 2-3 weeks.  Families are needed between June 19 and September 8.  Information is trickling in, but to date all IFYE’s we have information on this year are females.  There should be at least a couple of males.  We expect most will be from farms.  Several express interest in horses among the currently available bios.  Countries include Austria, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Taiwan and Wales.

As information becomes available, it will be posted on the Host Family web page: http://www.kansas4-h.org/events-activities/global-citizenship/host-family-information/index.html.  To apply, go to the bottom of the page under IFYE  Hosting and download the IFYE Host Family Application as a fillable pdf, save it to their computer, fill in the form and save it.   The completed form should be emailed to Mary Kay Munson at munson@ksbroadband.net.  The web site has a separate Word document applying families can download and insert a family picture(s) in, save and email to Munson.  She will work with them on placement of an IFYE.
