2019-2020 AYP Students Depart as their Native Countries Send Flights

Submitted by Mary Kay Munson

As schools in our country closed, Academic Year Program students sponsored by 4-H have been going home before their scheduled June departures.  Kansas has seen our students sheltering with host families and taking their classes online.  Our Korean 4-H student in Dickinson County was repatriated in early April.  The YES student from Bosnia and Herzegovina in Shawnee County departed in early April and the YES student from Kosovo in Meade County departed May 7.  The final student Marina Hiohi from North Macedonia in Stevens County has not been notified of an early departure as of this writing.  Thanks to the high schools and Extension professionals who served as Local Coordinators.
