Outbound 4-H Exchange Applications Due November 1
4-H’ers who wish to participate in outbound exchanges to Argentina, Costa Rica, Japan, South Korea, or Taiwan in summer of 2026 need to complete the online application for a States’ 4-H International Exchange (S4-H) which is due November 1. (If someone is just learning about the opportunities and can’t complete the application by that date, they may contact the state exchange coordinator to explore options.) Applications include references to be distributed and returned to the coordinator, photos, releases, and a Medical Form, in addition to essays and a letter to the prospective host family. Applicants should allow time to assemble the complete packet on time.
After November 1, applicants will receive details on the required Interviews and First Orientation to be held on November 23 in Junction City. For information on each of the exchanges and the link to the online application, go to www.Kansas4-H.edu and search Global Citizenship or follow this link: States' 4-H International Exchange Program.
Applications for adults over 21 who would like to chaperone one of the exchanges may be completed using a chaperone application at the States' 4-H site. Applicants who have experience working with youth, involvement with 4-H, language capability in the host country, and interest in learning about other cultures are sought to fill these roles. We urge Kansans who would like to guide one of these groups to apply. If they do, we would like to include them in Kansas orientations. Selections are made at the national level.
