Youth Development Action and Signature Programming Plans

Submitted by Diane Mack

The 4-H Youth Development Action Plan and two Signature Plans of community vitality and communications are available to help you in the planning phase of your programming efforts.

The action plan and signature action plans are in the PEARS systems and posted: https://www.kansas4-h.org/resources/youth-development-pft/index.html

One of the signature programs you may select is Communications. This is for all staff with 4-H youth development programming responsibilities, not just members of the Youth Development PFT.

Using National 4-H Council’s 4-H Communications Curriculum, Module 1, regional 4-H Youth Development specialists will offer a series of webinars to train club volunteers to utilize six lesson plans with their 4-H members.

All plans are available in the PEARS system for you to copy. Please add specific programming emphasis, program size, demographics, needs or initiatives for your unit. You may wish to refer to local Census data, Kansas Kids Count data, ES-237 reports, or 4-H Online data.

Two webinars are scheduled to assist you in the planning process. Both will be recorded and posted to be reviewed at a later date. Zoom links were sent in a separate email and are available in the KSRE resources TEAMS, youth development channel, YD action and signature plan resources folder.

  • August 20, 9 a.m.: Review of the program development planning cycle including PEARS program activities and review PEARS survey data to help answer, what do the numbers mean.

  • August 26, 1:30 p.m.: Overview of the communications signature program.
