2022 Horse Panorama Registration

Submitted by Shannon Rogge

The 2022 4-H Horse Panorama registration is open through Qualtrics. All registration links, as well as an assisting worksheet with fees, can be found on the Panorama event webpage. Registration is due January 9, 2022. Once registered the local extension office will be invoiced. Please encourage registrants to pay the local office.

For those that would like to submit photography, logo design, ad layout, poster, Power Point, or model horse online (and not bring it to Rock Springs), entries will be accepted through January 23. More information about the hybrid contest can be found on the Panorama event webpage

One change for the quiz bowl competition is the submission of possible questions. These are not required but encouraged. A senior team can submit 5-10, and open individuals can submit 2-4 questions each. These questions will be vetted before being added to our contest. This allows youth to learn content through the writing process, the possibility of having their question used during their round, as well as revamping our aged bank of questions over the next several years. Resources and question structure can be found in the contest rules.

The 2022 4-H Horse Panorama is scheduled for January 28 – 30, at Rock Springs Ranch, a schedule of events is located at 2022 Schedule. 4-H Horse members are encouraged to register to participate in quiz bowl, hippology, presentations, and more.

Horse Quiz Bowl encourages young people to develop knowledge of equine-related subject matter. This contest develops alertness, self-confidence, and knowledge in a competitive setting, surrounded by an attitude of friendliness and fairness.

Senior Quiz Bowl members need to sign-up as a team with all members age 14 by January 1, 2022. The senior teams will compete in a double elimination bracket.

Open Quiz Bowl is available for all youth participants. Those youth registering for Open Quiz Bowl will be randomly put on teams with other youth from across the state for a fun, educational experience.

Hippology is an educational activity for youth who wish to demonstrate their knowledge of equine-related subject matter in a friendly, competitive setting. This contest enhances decision-making and provides an opportunity for the participants to work cooperatively with others.

Beginning in fall 2021, as a private entity, Rock Springs Ranch requires a site participant agreement for all individuals present during the event. This agreement can be completed via Qualtrics and is also linked on the Panorama event webpage.
